So I admit that Facebook has become my new blog! After being asked by several non-Facebookers if I had stopped doing the blog I decided to play "catch up." Here goes...we had a fabulous and busy summer. Allen took us along on a "work-trip" the first week of summer to Tampa. Chase, Caroline and I had a great time at the Aquarium, Zoo and musuem. It was fun, but somehow we weren't invited to come on anymore "work-trips?" I spent two weeks finishing up my gifted endorsement and am now officially certified to teach gifted, which is a good thing because that's what a do 2 1/2 days a week! Chase spent some time at "karate camp" and Caroline hit the road to SC and VA with Nana and Papa. Yes, they were brave enough to take a 2 1/2 year old in the car all the way to VA. They had a great visit with the SC family and with Kim("Berly"), Erik and Duffy. I am sure Nana and Papa now know all the words to several Dora and Barney episodes! Allen and I celebrated our 10th anniversary with an AMAZING trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. We were very spoiled and I hope I don't have to wait another 10 years to do it again!Chase and Caroline spent the 4th with Memar and Pop pop having lots of fun and lots of fireworks! The whole Skipper, DiBiase, Belknap, Wallace, Moore and some of the Wolfe clan hit the beach in Ft. Walton at the end of July. It was a great week spent with lots of family and friends! August was spent hanging out at Nana and Papas pool with Aunt Berly, meeting friends for playdates, and getting ready to go back to school. August 24th found Chase and mom back at school. Chase is in 1st grade and has the same teachers who "looped" up witht he class from kindergarten. Caroline still spends her days with Nana and Papa and returned to her preschool today with a few tears, but ended the day with smiles. We are gearing up for a busy fall. Chase is playing flag football and baseball(yes, we are insane!) Caroline will return to ballet, let's hope she dances the first class and not the 4th! Seminole football is about to begin and the Skipper's will be heading to Tallahassee! Aunt Berly and Uncle Erik will welcome EJ(Erik Jr.) in November! I hope to keep up with the blog through all this craziness!Tuesday, September 1, 2009

My Rockstars
Chase loves Rockband and has become quite the little performer. Recently Caroline has joined in and is sharing her drumming and singing skills:) It is fun to "rock out" as a family:) School is out for summer! I am sure we will have many more family jam sessions...we've got to keep these crazy kids busy! Two more days of work for mommy and then the Rockband family hits the road with daddy! We will see how much he really misses us after we crash his business trips for the summer! First stop...Tampa:)

Baseball

Chase just finished up his 3rd baseball season. He played on the "Hooks" this season and really fell in love with the game. They had a great season, placing third in the league. The playoffs about wore us out, we played 5 games in a week! Allen was an assistant coach and Caroline, Mommy,Papa and Nana were the cheerleaders. Caroline loved going to "Chasie baseball" and became addicted to the ballpark hotdogs, chips and ringpops. It was a good thing Papa was at most of the games, or mommy would not have seen any baseball and would not have any money either. Chase is playing flag football this summer, we will keep you posted. Caroline has started ballet but has not ventured far from mommy's lap at class so we don't have an action shots. She does look pretty darn cute in her tutu though:)

Catching up with the Skippers....
Chase continues to love school. He has become quite the reader and writer and his mom could not be more proud of the student that he is:) It is hard to beleive that he only has about 10 more weeks of Kindergarten! Time is moving too fast! Caroline loves school and wishes she could go everyday. She is enjoying hanging out with her Nana and now her Papa who retired in January. She is growing up so fast and has an amazing vocabulary and a flair for the dramatic! She adores her big brother! Chase had a big adventure in March. Allen, Chase, "Uncle Philip" and I flew out to Aspen, Colorado for a ski trip. Chase insisted he was going to snowboard and had visions of himself doing 360's off of half-pipes. He didn't quite get to that level, but give him a few more years and I will be really nervous! We had an amazing time and hope we get to do it again next year. We didn't escape injury free..Philip broke a finger on "Fanny Hill" and lucky we had connections at the local hospital so he got to continue skiing with one hand:) We got to see snow and Chase got to ice skate and sled. It was a fabulous trip! Caroline got left behind, but had fun with her Nana and Papa. We are already looking at cute pink snow gear for her, so she will get to go next time and be a little "snowbunny."
Next week is spring break and Nana, Papa and the crew are going to brave Disney World! Updates to come...

Happy Birthday Caroline
January is a busy month for the Skippers! Caroline turned 2 on January 8th. We celebrated with a few neighbors and Nana and Papa of course! Caroline loved singing "Happy Birthday to Me" and opening presents. We heard "more, more" many times throughout the day. Nana and Papa made her a special Dora ("Doot Doot" as we call her)cake and as you can tell from the pictures she was dressed up as the pretty princess that she is. We can't beleive she is two already. Where has the time gone? Stayed tuned, Chase turns 6 in a few days...
